Skype Exporter

A quick and dirty script to export Skype user data from the software’s SQLite files.

Description

When I needed to export some old conversation logs from a local Skype installation, I was relieved to find that the format was fairly straightforward. At the time, Skype used simple SQLite files for local storage. To export my data into a usable format, I wrote a Python script to import the data, transform it, and output each conversation as a human-radable self-contained HTML file.

I only needed to do this once, so the project was used only at that time. I don’t know how Skype may have changed since, so use it only at your own risk.
